This past weekend we decided to leave our phones at home and simply be together as a family. I was really surprised at how often I thought about my phone and how many times I caught myself thinking about checking something, or looking something up.

I don’t believe in any way that technology should be abandoned or that it is evil in and of itself, but I do believe that I sometimes give it a place in my life that it shouldn’t have.

When I allow good things to become consuming things they become bad things.

Once I got through the initial separation detox from our devices I absolutely loved getting to play! We played tag, went down some slides, ate lunch, built a sand man and we weren’t worried about the time at all.

Matt and I used to play frisbee in the park by our tiny apartment when we were first married. I couldn’t throw one worth a lick, but he patiently and persistently taught me. Every chance we got we would go out a throw together….and it’s still one of our absolute favorite things to do together. It blows my mind that we can be doing the same activity but now with five little persons running between our throws. I never would have imagined this to be my life-thank you Jesus for the gift my family is!!!

This suit is one of my new favorites and it’s on SALE right now!!!!!  I love a good one piece and I love the feminine straps. This suit fits great, and feels sporty and girly all at the same time. My boys are super picky about what I wear and finding suits that I love that were picked out by my young men is such fun!

Suit: Athleta // Coverup: Lands End

  1. Meg, I am always inspired by you. It’s so nice to have a down to earth Christian mom who is willing to honestly share what life with children looks like. Thank you for sharing and looking forward to the new blog!
