Charity came into my life a few years ago when she was introduced to me by a mutual friend. She was going through a challenging season in life and came to me in need of some help. Conversations concerning deep spiritual issues as she opened up her life to me in such a vulnerable way led to a beautiful mentor relationship, now turned friendship. Charity has one of the biggest hearts to help people that I’ve ever seen. I’ve personally reaped the benefits of that as she has willingly and even excitedly cared for my kids in my absence on multiple, multiple occasions.
Charity comes from a large family, she is one of 12 kids, which means that my five seem like nothing to her! I cannot tell you how many days she has spent in our home just hanging out, helping me run errands, or spending time together. She is always worried about being in the way and no matter what I do, I cannot seem to convince her that it is actually one of the greatest gifts to have her around!
Charity works as a flight attendant and gets paid to travel the world! She deeply loves her family, loves a good book, enjoys a good coffee shop and can often be found de-stressing 
by zoning out to Netflix! š And sometimes, when she has longer stretches of time off she will come visit and stay with us a couple of nights! My kids view her as an older sister and always light up when she is around.
Charity has been an absolute God-send to me and my family these past few years. She was there as so much of the trauma unfolded regarding our churchĀ in 2014 and was a steadfast support and encourager throughout. Numerous times she has watched the kids so that Matt and I could go out on a date or to a meeting and even helped my mother in law watch the kids when Matt and I took a trip out of the country!
Charity most recently flew in to help out with our huge family photo shoot for this blog.
She had no fear in jumping right in to help get everyone dressed, get them standing where they needed to be, to help when a child was upset or to comfort one when one of them was hurt. She gave them snacks to keep them happy and even made some pretty silly faces to help get everyone looking at the camera! Besides family, there is most definitely no one that has so tangibly and selflessly served my family more than Charity.
Charity, I cannot tell you how much I treasure you. From the very first time I met you I knew you and I could be great friends. I am so thankful for you. I love your heart to help people, and I celebrate with you how far you’ve come in your new career. You’re a big girl now! I love the woman you are and I look forward to your future with great joy and anticipation as to how you will continue to grow. I know you will be used in some amazing ways. You have one of the most generous, giving, tender hearts that I’ve ever known. From the bottom of my heart, thank you!
